Quelle: FZI

A consortium, lead by the FZI Research Center for Information Technology also a partner in RobustSENSE, won a bid for “Test Center for Connected and Automated Driving” organized by The Federal Ministry of Transport in July 2016.

At the center, companies and research institutions can test future-oriented technologies and services related to connected and automated driving in real-life traffic. These include the automated driving of cars, buses and commercial vehicles such as road cleaning and delivery services vehicles. In addition, the regulatory and legal requirements can be developed further.

The plan is to conduct the first test run in 12 months' time and start the regular operations in 17 months' time.

In the future the test field will be also used for the testing of RobustSENSE systems.
